Wiinner: Best Coffeehouse D Magazine 2025
Kyotobrew is a specialty coffee shop in the Dallas metropolitan area serving thoughtfully sourced coffee, matcha, tea, and Japanese-inspired food in a welcoming neighborhood setting. Rooted in Japanese café culture, it offers a slower, more intentional approach to hospitality, bringing together quality ingredients, meticulous preparation, and a warm, community-focused experience.
As Creative Director, I developed the brand from the ground up, creating an identity inspired by Ameritori—the uniquely Japanese practice of reinterpreting and totemizing Western aesthetics. Rather than mimicking Japanese visual tropes, the brand explores this cultural exchange through a distinctly contemporary lens, balancing nostalgia, craftsmanship, and playful irreverence.
